Multi-day circuits

Kerala tours with a private driver

One vehicle and one driver for the whole circuit, priced as a single figure you agree before you fly. We do not sell hotels and we take no commission from them, so the itinerary we suggest is the one that makes the driving work — not the one that pays us.

What you get

The four things that actually matter here

  • Hotels are yours to choose

We are a transport operator, not a package agency. Book your own rooms wherever you like and we will tell you honestly whether the drive between them works. Nobody here earns a cut from your hotel.

  • Priced as one figure, itemised

Distance at the published per-kilometre rate, the driver allowance for each day the car is held, tolls and permits, and 5% GST. Four lines. The same arithmetic on a three-day trip and a fourteen-day one.

  • Built around real driving times

Kerala roads average 35–40 km/h off the highway. Most itineraries you find online assume double that. We will tell you when a plan needs a day added, before you book it rather than on day three.

  • Inter-state permits arranged

Tamil Nadu and Karnataka entry for the longer circuits is organised in advance and quoted inside your total. Nothing is collected at a border checkpost.

How long you actually need

Three days gets you Munnar properly. Five gets you Munnar and the backwaters without rushing. Six adds Thekkady. Ten lets you work down the coast to Kovalam with time to stop. Fourteen takes in Tamil Nadu — Madurai, Kanyakumari and the Nilgiris.

Below three days you are mostly in the car. Above fourteen and most people want a few days sitting still somewhere, which we are happy to build in — the car simply waits, and you are only charged the driver allowance for those days rather than distance.

What is not included

Hotels, entry tickets, boat fares, guides and your food. We quote transport, and we quote it completely.

The driver’s food and accommodation is on your invoice as the daily allowance. You are never asked to buy him meals or find him a room — that is his allowance, and it is his to manage.

Every figure is the Swift Dzire rate with the driver allowance, tolls and 5% GST already inside it. Larger vehicles scale from the same rate card.

Questions

Asked about this

How many days do I need for Kerala?

Five for Munnar and the backwaters at a sensible pace. Six to add Thekkady. Ten to work down to Kovalam. Fourteen if you want Tamil Nadu as well. Fewer than three and you will spend most of it driving.

Do you book hotels too?

No, deliberately. We are a transport operator and we take no commission from hotels, which means the itinerary we recommend is the one that makes the driving work rather than the one that pays us.

What happens on days we do not travel?

The car and driver wait. You are charged the daily driver allowance for those days but no distance, so a rest day is cheap. Many longer itineraries have two or three.

Is the driver with us the whole time?

Yes. Same driver, same vehicle, start to finish. You get his name and number the evening before the trip begins.

Can we start from somewhere other than Cochin airport?

Yes — Trivandrum, Calicut or a hotel anywhere in Kerala. Cochin is simply where most people land.
