Cochin Airport to Munnar Taxi
The road climbs from sea level to 1,600 m in about three and a half hours. Past Neriamangalam it is continuous hairpins with a river on one side — beautiful, and not a road to hurry on. Most flights landing before 2pm get you to Munnar in daylight, which is worth arranging.

What it costs
Every vehicle we run to Munnar, priced
One-way drop from Cochin International Airport. Each figure includes tolls and 5% GST, and it is the figure you pay — we confirm it in writing before you travel.
| Vehicle | Seats | Bags | One-way fare |
|---|---|---|---|
| Swift Dzire Sedan · AC | 4 | 2 | ₹4,707 |
| Toyota Innova MUV · AC | 6+1 | 4 | ₹5,954 |

What is included — the drive, the driver, fuel, tolls on this route and 5% GST. The car returns to Nedumbassery empty and you are charged for part of that run, not all of it.
Night running — driving between 10pm and 6am adds ₹315 once, shown as its own line. An airport pickup at 2am counts.
Flight delays — give us the flight number and we track it. The driver waits and the fare does not change.
Stops on the way — the ones named below cost nothing extra. Tell the driver at the start so he paces the drive.
Worth knowing
What we tell people booking Munnar
The route runs via Angamaly, Perumbavoor, Kothamangalam, Neriamangalam, Adimali. These are the things that actually change how the day goes.
-
Cheeyappara and Valara falls are ten minutes apart on the way up. Both are roadside — no trek, no ticket. Worth the twenty-minute stop.
-
In monsoon (June–September) the ghat section past Adimali can hold water and the drive stretches to four hours. We do not charge extra for it; we just leave earlier.
-
Last fuel pump with reliable stock is at Adimali. Munnar town has pumps but they run dry on weekends in season.
-
If you land after 8pm we will suggest a night in Kochi and a 6am start instead. The ghat road after dark with a tired driver is not a saving.
Questions
Cochin airport to Munnar, answered
How far is Munnar from Cochin airport?
About 115 km by the Neriamangalam route, which is the one every driver uses. Allow three and a half hours including one stop — four in heavy monsoon.
How much does a taxi from Cochin airport to Munnar cost?
A Swift Dzire is the cheapest option; a 7-seat Innova Crysta and a 12-seat Winger cost more. The full table is on this page and the price is fixed in writing before you board — tolls are already in it.
Is there a cheaper way to get from Kochi airport to Munnar?
A bus to Aluva then Munnar costs a fraction of a taxi and takes five to six hours with a change. If you are two or more with luggage, the taxi usually works out similar per head and lands you at your hotel door.
Can we stop at the waterfalls on the way?
Yes, and it costs nothing extra. Cheeyappara, Valara and the Tea Museum are on the route. Tell the driver at the start so he paces the drive.
Do you do a Munnar drop at 4am for an early flight back?
Yes. Departures before 9am mean a pre-dawn start down the ghat — we send a driver who has slept in Munnar, not one driving up from Kochi that morning.
