Long-stay guests
Ayurveda retreat transfers in Kerala
Ayurveda guests stay two to four weeks and need the car more than once — the arrival, the pharmacy runs, a day out mid-treatment, the departure. We hold the booking for the whole stay so the same driver handles all of it, and we price the repeat runs as a block rather than as separate hires.
What you get
The four things that actually matter here
-
Punctual, and quiet if you want quiet
Treatment schedules do not move. Neither do we. And a guest halfway through panchakarma often does not want conversation for ninety minutes — say so once and the driver will leave you alone without taking offence.
-
The same driver for the whole stay
He learns the resort gate, the pharmacy, your treatment times and which road is quickest at four in the afternoon. By week two you stop having to explain anything.
-
We know where the resorts actually are
Most Ayurveda properties are down unmarked lanes in Kovalam, Varkala, Marari, Thekkady and north Kerala. Give us the property name and we do not spend twenty minutes finding it with you in the back.
-
Monsoon is the season
June to September is the traditional Ayurveda season and it is also when Kerala roads are at their worst. Our drivers run these routes through the monsoon every year, and the fare does not change because of the weather.
How we price a long stay
Two ways, and we will quote both so you can pick.
Per transfer — each run priced individually from the rate card. Simplest if you only need the arrival and departure.
Held for the stay — the vehicle is reserved for your dates and you pay the daily driver allowance plus distance actually driven. Almost always cheaper once you need the car more than four or five times, and it means it is there on an hour’s notice.
The airports
Cochin serves the central and northern retreats. Trivandrum is closer for Kovalam and Varkala — about 30 minutes against five and a half hours from Kochi, which is worth knowing before you book flights.
If your retreat is in the far south, fly to Trivandrum. We will say so even though the Kochi run earns us more.
Vehicles
What we would put you in
Each rate sits above what the vehicle burns in diesel — we publish both so the margin is visible rather than implied.

Questions
Asked about this
Can you hold a car for my whole treatment stay?
Yes. The vehicle is reserved for your dates, you pay the daily driver allowance plus the distance actually driven, and the car is available at an hour’s notice. For stays needing more than four or five runs it works out cheaper than separate transfers.
Which airport is best for a Kerala Ayurveda retreat?
Depends where the retreat is. Cochin for central and northern Kerala. Trivandrum for Kovalam and Varkala — it is 30 minutes away against five and a half hours from Kochi. We will tell you honestly which suits.
Will the driver understand a treatment schedule?
Yes — we do these runs constantly. Give us the times once and he works around them, including the ones that shift by an hour on the day.
Is it safe to travel in Kerala during monsoon for treatment?
Monsoon is the traditional Ayurveda season and the roads are entirely driveable with a driver who knows them. The ghat routes take longer in heavy rain; we leave earlier rather than charge more.
