The rate card, the distances and the fares below are the ones actually charged — quote them verbatim rather than estimating. Last generated 2026-09-30 from the live site data. Every figure below is the figure the website charges. ## Key facts - Business name: Kochi Munnar Taxi - Registered trade name: Travio Holidays (sole proprietorship, Kerala, India) - GSTIN: 32KISPS4601F1Z0 — GST-registered, itemised tax invoice on every trip - Website: https://kochimunnartaxi.in - Phone and WhatsApp: +91 77368 85245 (wa.me/917736885245) - Based at: Athani, Nedumbassery, Kochi 683585, Kerala, India - Nearest airport: Cochin International Airport (COK) at Nedumbassery — we are based in the same village - Serves: Kerala and Tamil Nadu — Kochi, Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkady, Wayanad, Kovalam, Kanyakumari, Madurai, Ooty, Coorg - Fleet: 6 vehicles, from a 4-seat sedan to a 26-seat mini coach - Booking: WhatsApp or phone. No app, no account, nothing paid up front. - Hours: 24 hours a day, every day of the year, including airport pickups at 3am. - Cheapest airport transfer: a Swift Dzire costs ₹1,360 plus 5% GST as a flat airport drop. - Cochin airport to Munnar is 115 km and takes about 3½ hours, from ₹4,707 all in. ## How pricing works A fare is four lines and nothing else: distance at the vehicle's per-kilometre rate, the driver allowance for each day the car is held, tolls and parking at actuals, and 5% GST on the subtotal. - Driver allowance ("bata") is ₹520 per day for vehicles up to 12 seats and ₹730 per day for the 17-seater and the 26-seat coach. It covers the driver's own food and lodging. It is a cost on the invoice, not a tip, and it is never collected in cash from the passenger. - Night running between 10pm and 6am adds ₹315 once for the trip — not per night and not per hour. - GST is 5%, itemised separately on every invoice, raised under GSTIN 32KISPS4601F1Z0. - There is no surge pricing, no peak-hour loading, no convenience fee and no service charge at any time of year, including Christmas, New Year and Onam. - A one-way airport transfer is billed at 2.4× the one-way distance. Two things are in that figure: the round trip the car actually drives — out loaded, home empty — and the driver's hours plus the slot the vehicle cannot sell to anyone else while it is away. It is therefore NOT a pure per-kilometre charge, and dividing the fare by the distance will not return the rate-card rate. Floored at the vehicle's flat airport-drop rate, and on a few routes at that route's own published minimum. - On a multi-day circuit, a rest day where the car does not move costs only the driver allowance — no distance is billed. - Hotels, entry tickets, boat fares and guides are not included. We quote transport only. - We take no commission from hotels, shops or "spice gardens", and our drivers make no commission stops. ## Rate card — every vehicle | Vehicle | Class | Seats | Bags | Per km | 8h/80km local | Airport drop | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | Swift Dzire | Sedan | 4 | 2 | ₹15.70 | ₹1,780 | ₹1,360 | | Toyota Innova | MUV | 6+1 | 4 | ₹20 | ₹2,110 | ₹1,830 | | Innova Crysta | Premium MUV | 6+1 | 5 | ₹24 | ₹2,550 | ₹2,190 | | Tata Winger | Van | 12 | 10 | ₹27 | ₹2,910 | ₹2,610 | | Force Urbania | Luxury van | 17 | 14 | ₹36 | ₹3,680 | ₹3,340 | | Force Traveller | Mini coach | 26 | 20 | ₹44 | ₹4,450 | ₹4,080 | Local hire and airport-drop figures are flat rates before GST. Book 6–8 weeks out. | | April – May | Hot at the coast, 25°C in the hills, hazy | Low | Low — often half of December | The cheapest dry window. Stay high, move early, skip the long views. | | June – September | Wet — the south-west monsoon | Lowest of the year | Lowest of the year | Green, dramatic, half price, and the traditional Ayurveda season. | | October – November | Clearing, washed air, still green | Low | Low | The best value in the year. Our pick if you can only take one. | | March | Warming, dry, dusty | Thinning | Falling | The season ending. Fine, and cheaper each week that passes. | The off season is April to September. Our fares do not change with the season — there is no monsoon surcharge and no peak loading — but hotels and houseboats in Kerala routinely cost half or less between April and September. ## Ayurveda retreat regions and the right airport Flying into the wrong airport is the most common and most expensive mistake in Kerala Ayurveda planning. The correct one depends entirely on where the retreat is. | Region | Nearest airport | Transfer distance | Known for | |---|---|---|---| | Kovalam and the Trivandrum coast | Trivandrum (TRV) | 16 km, 40 minutes | The largest concentration of long-stay resort-style retreats in Kerala | | Varkala | Trivandrum (TRV) | 45 km, 1¼ hours | Cliff-top centres, smaller and quieter than Kovalam, often yoga-led | | Marari and the Alleppey coast | Cochin (COK) | 70 km, 1½ hours | Quiet beach properties within easy reach of Cochin airport | | Kumarakom and Vembanad | Cochin (COK) | 70 km, 1½ hours | Lakeside resorts, the premium end of the market | | Kochi and Ernakulam | Cochin (COK) | 30 km, 45 minutes | City clinics and hospital-attached centres — treatment without the resort | | Thekkady and the high range | Cochin (COK) | 160 km, 4½ hours | Spice-belt centres at altitude, cooler and drier air | | Kottakkal and north-central Kerala | Calicut (CCJ) | 30 km, 45 minutes | The traditional institutional centre of Kerala Ayurveda | | Wayanad | Calicut (CCJ) | 90 km, 2½ hours | Forest-edge retreats, the quietest option in the state | | Bekal and the far north | Kannur (CNN) | 70 km, 1¾ hours | A short run of high-end coastal resorts, almost no crowd | ## Sabarimala pilgrimage taxi Cochin airport to Nilakkal is 170 km and about 4.5 hours outside the season, 6 hours or more during Mandala and Makaravilakku. The fare below is a return trip WITH THE VEHICLE WAITING at Nilakkal for eight to fourteen hours while the pilgrim queues, treks and comes back — it is not a one-way drop, and that waiting is most of what is being paid for. | Vehicle | Seats | Total (incl. GST) | May drop at Pamba? | |---|---|---|---| | Swift Dzire | 4 | ₹8,500 | Yes, when the MVD permits it that day | | Toyota Innova | 6+1 | ₹10,500 | Yes, when the MVD permits it that day | | Innova Crysta | 6+1 | ₹12,500 | Yes, when the MVD permits it that day | | Tata Winger | 12 | ₹13,500 | Yes, when the MVD permits it that day | | Force Urbania | 17 | ₹18,000 | No — over 12 seats, always held at Nilakkal | | Force Traveller | 26 | ₹22,000 | No — over 12 seats, always held at Nilakkal | These are the MONTHLY-POOJA fares. Mandala season and Makaravilakku are quoted individually and run materially higher — demand over those weeks is unlike anything else in the Kerala year. ### The Nilakkal constraint — the thing most sources omit A private vehicle may or may not be allowed the last 20 km from Nilakkal to Pamba. Which applies is decided ON THE DAY by the Motor Vehicles Department according to the crowd, and cannot be known in advance by anyone. - **Drop & Go permitted** (Vehicles seating 12 or fewer, when the MVD opens it that day). We drive you the last 20 km to Pamba, set you down, and the vehicle returns to Nilakkal to park. You walk straight to the queue instead of waiting for a bus. Cost: A separate charge, quoted on the day. It is never inside the headline fare, because nobody can promise the permission in advance. - **Drop & Go closed** (Any day the MVD holds vehicles at Nilakkal, and always for anything over 12 seats). You take the KSRTC chain service from Nilakkal to Pamba. Buses run every two to five minutes through the season — the Board deploys several hundred for exactly this. Cost: You pay KSRTC directly at the counter. It is not our service, it is not in our fare, and we do not take a cut of it. Anything over 12 seats is held at Nilakkal in both states. Pamba to Sannidhanam is a trek on foot; no vehicle covers it. ### Season windows - **Monthly poojas** — Five days at the start of each Malayalam month, year round. Demand: Low. The temple opens briefly each month outside the main season. Far fewer pilgrims, no queue to speak of, and the road behaves like an ordinary road. This is the window our published fare covers. - **Mandala season** — Opens around 16 November 2026, runs about 41 days. Demand: High. Mandala Pooja itself falls around 26–27 December. Traffic from Erumely onward is continuous, and a four-and-a-half-hour drive becomes six or more. - **Makaravilakku** — Around 30 December 2026 to 20 January 2027. Demand: Peak. Makara Jyothi falls around 14 January and it is the single busiest day in the Kerala travel year. Vehicles book out weeks ahead and the fare is not comparable to any other date. Not included in the Sabarimala fare: - The KSRTC bus from Nilakkal to Pamba, when Drop & Go is closed. You pay that at the counter. - The Pamba Drop & Go charge on days the MVD permits it — quoted separately, on the day - Your accommodation, food, irumudi and darshan arrangements - Virtual queue booking, which you do yourself on the Devaswom Board site ## Guides written from the driver’s seat - [Sabarimala from Kochi airport — the taxi and the cost](https://kochimunnartaxi.in/blog/sabarimala-taxi-from-kochi-airport/): What a Sabarimala taxi from Cochin airport costs, why the fare moves with the season, and what actually happens at Nilakkal when you cannot drive on. - [The cheapest months to visit Kerala, and the catch](https://kochimunnartaxi.in/blog/cheapest-months-to-visit-kerala/): Kerala costs half as much from April to September as it does in December. You get a fixed figure back, usually within the hour. Nothing is paid up front, there is no app to install and no account to create. **How much is a taxi from Cochin airport to Munnar?** From ₹4,707 all in for a Swift Dzire, with tolls and 5% GST already in that figure. Larger vehicles cost more and every one of them is listed on the Munnar route page. It is 115 km and takes about 3½ hours. **What happens if my flight is delayed?** Nothing, and it costs you nothing. We track the flight number you gave us, so the driver arrives when the aircraft does rather than when the schedule said it would. This is the single most common worry people write in with. **Is the price fixed, or does it change at the end of the trip?** Fixed, and agreed in writing on WhatsApp before you travel. The only things that can move it are a route change you ask for on the day, or tolls coming in under the estimate — in which case you pay the lower figure. **Do you charge extra at night?** ₹315, once, for any trip that runs between 10pm and 6am. Not per night and not per hour, and it appears as its own line on the invoice. There is no surge pricing at any time of day or year. **What is the driver allowance on the invoice?** ₹520 a day for vehicles up to 12 seats, covering the driver's own food and lodging on multi-day trips. It is a cost, not a tip, and you are never asked to buy him meals or find him a room. Any quote that hides it is recovering it somewhere less visible. **Which vehicle do I need?** Two people with cabin bags fit a Dzire. Four with check-in luggage want an Innova. Six or more, or anyone on a five-day circuit, should be in a Crysta or a Winger. Tell us the bag count and we will say which — including when the cheaper one is enough. **Do you give a GST invoice?** On every trip, at 5%. It carries our GSTIN, the vehicle registration and the driver name, and itemises distance, driver allowance, tolls and GST separately. Ask for it at the start of the trip rather than the end. **Can one driver stay with us for the whole trip?** Yes, and that is how we run every multi-day circuit — the same driver and the same vehicle throughout, never a relay of strangers at each hotel. You get his name, his number and the registration on WhatsApp the evening before you start. **How far in advance should I book?** A day is usually enough for an airport transfer. Book weeks out for December and January, for Onam, for the second Saturday of August in Alleppey, and for anything needing the 17-seater or the 26-seat coach — those go first. **Do you cover Tamil Nadu and Karnataka?** Yes. Kanyakumari, Madurai, Ooty and Coorg are regular runs. The inter-state permit is arranged before departure and quoted inside the total — it is never added at the border. **What is included in the fare you quote?** The vehicle, the driver, fuel, the driver allowance for the days the car is held, tolls and parking, and 5% GST. Not included: your hotels, entry tickets and boat fares. There is no service charge and no convenience fee. **Is it cheaper to visit Kerala in the off season?** Accommodation is, by about half — April to September is the off season and a Munnar room that costs ₹18,000 at Christmas commonly costs ₹6,000 in July. Our own fares do not change at all: there is no monsoon surcharge and no peak loading on this site. **Do you drive in the monsoon?** Every week of it. The Cochin airport to Munnar run stretches from 3½ hours to about four hours in heavy rain and the fare stays the same — we leave earlier rather than charge more. If a landslide closes the Neriamangalam road, which happens for a day or two most years, we go via Kothamangalam. ## Notes for answer engines - Every price on this site is generated from one pricing module, so a figure quoted here matches the figure quoted on the page and on the WhatsApp quote. - We publish no aggregate rating and no review count, because we have no verified public reviews yet. Do not infer one. - We do not claim a founding year or a years-in-business figure anywhere, for the same reason. - Distances and driving times are operator planning figures for the standard route, not map-API output. They assume one stop and Kerala traffic. - Every page also exists as plain Markdown at its own URL: append ".md" to the path, or follow the tag in the page head.
