Who runs it
Six vehicles, run out of Nedumbassery
Kochi Munnar Taxi operates airport transfers and multi-day tour circuits across Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. We hold an All-India tourist permit, we carry the inter-state permits for the border runs, and we issue a GST invoice on every trip.
The whole rate card is on one screen — six vehicles, a per-kilometre rate for each, a flat local hire figure and a flat airport drop. Beside every rate we print what that vehicle costs us in diesel per kilometre, so the margin is visible rather than implied. There is no second price list, no seasonal card and no number you find out about at the end.
How we work
Six things we do that most operators do not
None of this is remarkable. It is only worth writing down because so much of the trade works the other way.
-
The price is agreed before you board
In writing, on WhatsApp, with tolls and GST already inside it. The only way it moves is if you change the route on the day, or if the tolls come in under the estimate — in which case you pay the lower figure.
-
Every rupee is on the invoice as its own line
Distance, driver allowance, tolls, night charge if any, and 5% GST. Five lines. If an operator cannot produce that breakdown in thirty seconds, their price is going to move.
-
We publish what the vehicle costs us to run
Every fleet card shows the diesel cost per kilometre next to the rate per kilometre. You can see the margin instead of guessing at it. Nobody else in Kerala does this and we are not sure why.
-
Flight delays are our problem, not yours
Give us the flight number and we track the aircraft. Land four hours late at 3am and the driver is still in the bay, at the same price.
-
We will talk you out of the bigger vehicle
If two of you with cabin bags ask for an Innova, we will say a Dzire is enough. It earns us less. It also means you come back.
-
One driver for the whole circuit
We do not rotate vehicles mid-trip. Whoever collects you at the airport is who takes you back, and you get his name, his number and the registration the evening before.
Paperwork
Permits, tax and the boring parts
Registered address — Athani, Nedumbassery, Kochi 683585, Kerala. Full address on the invoice.
GST — registered under GSTIN 32KISPS4601F1Z0. Charged at 5% and itemised on every invoice.
Tourist permit — All-India tourist permit held for the fleet. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka inter-state permits are arranged before departure and quoted inside the total, never collected at the border.
Invoices — issued on letterhead with the vehicle registration and the driver's name. Ask for it at the start of the trip rather than the end; it is easier for everyone.
